Loverly Sweeps – Terms & Conditions of Booking
Last updated: August 2026
1. About Your Booking & Appointments
Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed once an appointment time has been agreed with Loverly Sweeps. Confirmation will be sent via email. By making a booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Cancellations & Rearrangements: We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice—or missed appointments where we arrive but cannot gain access—may incur a fee up to the full value of the appointment.
Parking & Access: Please let us know in advance of any parking restrictions, permits required, or difficult access. Any parking fees incurred will be added to your final invoice.
Unforeseen Delays: While we always strive to be punctual, delays due to severe weather, road closures, or vehicle breakdowns are beyond our control. We will always keep you updated if our arrival time changes.
2. Preparing for Our Visit To ensure a safe and smooth appointment, we ask that you ensure:
Safe and unrestricted access to your home and appliance.
The fire or stove has been extinguished well in advance, and all ashes are completely cold.
Any furniture, ornaments, or valuables near the fireplace are moved prior to our arrival.
Children are kept safely out of the working area throughout the visit.
Any known defects, past chimney fires, or unusual issues are disclosed to us before work begins.
If we cannot safely access or sweep the appliance due to site conditions, a standard call-out fee may apply.
3. What’s Included in a Standard Sweep Our standard chimney sweep includes:
A visual inspection of the appliance and flue.
Professional sweeping using industry-approved manual or power sweeping equipment.
Clean removal and containment of soot.
Basic visual safety checks.
An official NACS sweeping certificate (where applicable).
4. Additional Services & Specialist Work
CCTV Inspections & Nest Removal: Services such as internal CCTV surveys, bird’s nest removal, stove servicing, and replacement parts (e.g. rope seals, firebricks) are separate services and will be quoted before work begins.
Heavy Tar & Creosote: Standard sweeping removes normal soot. Excessive glazed creosote, heavy tar, or structural blockages require specialist chemical treatments or multiple visits. Sweeping alone cannot remove hardened glazed tar, and any additional required work will be discussed with you first.
5. Appliance Checks & Repairs Every sweep includes a visual health check of your stove, firebricks, rope seals, and flue cement. We will always offer honest advice if maintenance is required, but we operate on a strict rule: if it isn't broken, we won't fix it. If we judge an appliance or flue to be structurally unsafe, we reserve the right to decline sweeping.
6. Cleanliness & Care We take immense pride in keeping your home tidy. We use high-grade dust-control vacuums and protective sheeting for every job. While every precaution is taken, a minimal amount of residual dust can occasionally occur due to the nature of chimney sweeping.
7. Certificates & Documentation An insurance-recognised NACS sweeping certificate will be issued upon completion of a successful sweep. Certificates are strictly issued for work carried out directly by Loverly Sweeps.
8. Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work on the day of the appointment.
We accept payment via bank transfer, cash, and cheque.
Late payments may be subject to statutory interest and recovery costs where applicable.
9. Liability & Limitations While we exercise the utmost care, chimney sweeping is a maintenance and cleaning service; it does not guarantee the underlying structural integrity of your chimney, flue, pot, cowl, or appliance.
Exclusions: We cannot be held liable for pre-existing damage, hidden internal defects, loose masonry, damaged liners, leaking chimneys, or faults that only become visible during the sweeping process.
Limit of Liability: Our liability is limited to the total value of the service provided, except where liability cannot be excluded by English law (such as personal injury or death caused by negligence).
10. Photos, Privacy & Feedback
Photography: We may take photos of your flue, appliance, or work carried out for diagnostic records, insurance verification, or social media. We will never publish images that identify your property or personal items without your consent.
Privacy: Your personal contact details are stored securely and used solely to deliver our services, handle bookings, and meet legal requirements. We never sell your data to third parties.
Complaints: We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us within 7 days so we can make things right.
11. Governing Law These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any legal matters shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

They cleaned 3 chimneys, showed us the level of soot they had removed and tidied up superbly. A lovely father and Son team both very personable, fast efficient and tidy”
